The all-new Phoenix isn’t just a downhill bike; it’s the culmination of years of meticulous design, testing and refinement. This machine is built for those who understand that true speed requires precision and focus. Pivot Cycles has poured obsessive attention into every detail of the Phoenix, ensuring it delivers the ultimate downhill performance.
Obsessing over an extra point-one percent of performance is what sets the Phoenix apart. Downhill isn’t just about wild speed; it’s about mastering every corner, drop, rock, and root on the course. The Phoenix embodies this spirit, offering a direct connection to your brain, smoothing out inputs, and allowing you to push your limits with confidence. It’s a bike that opens the floodgates to the flow state, enabling you to conquer any course with precision.
“Every aspect of the Phoenix’s development was focused on maximizing its performance,” says Chris Cocalis, founder and CEO of Pivot. “Our team has dedicated countless hours and hundreds of runs around the globe, relentlessly pushing this bike to its limits to create the ultimate downhill race machine,” adds Bernard Kerr, Pivot Factory Racing team manager and downhill racer.
The Phoenix ushers in a new era of downhill performance, building on the profound success of its predecessor, the Phoenix 29. Developed with suspension legend Dave Weagle, the cutting-edge 6-bar design (DW6) provides 210mm of mid-high pivot rear travel, delivering unmatched control and stability on the most challenging descents. The dual-chain drive boosts efficiency and offers insane square-edge bump compliance, letting you maintain momentum and power through rough terrain with ease. The MX wheel setup, with a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel, strikes the perfect balance between stability and maneuverability, allowing the larger front wheel to devour obstacles and the nimble rear wheel to thread through technical sections with precision.
