Endura Deluge Glove

Design Philosophy
The waterproof and insulated Deluge Glove is a full on foul weather cycling glove that is ready to tackle the wrath of winter cycling. An Endura best seller, the updated design retains all of the good bits including the waterproof, breathable membrane and Thinsulate insulation while improving comfort, dexterity and durability. Bring on winter!

Thinsulate Insulation
Thinsulate is a synthetic insulation with a good warmth to weight ratio. Using synthetic insulation means the it still provides decent insulation, even when damp, and can be more easily washed and cared for.

Fabric
A breathable and waterproof membrane sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of the glove provides protection from the elements, keeping your hands warm and dry whatever your style of riding. The lining is even a soft brushed fabric for that instant pull-on warmth.

Features
  • Durable waterproof, breathable outer fabric with eco-friendly PFC free DWR finish provides maximum element protection
  • Fully waterproof and breathable internal membrane
  • Warm Thinsulate insulation ideal for deep winter riding
  • Wicking inner brushed tricot to move sweat and moisture from skin
  • Conductive microfiber palm for touchscreen compatibility
  • Lightly padded gel palm with silicone print for grip
  • Full thumb suede sweat wipe
  • Extra-long cuff with wrap round Velcro adjuster
  • Reflective detailing

Warm but wet on the inside

These are not up to the usual Endura standards in my opinion. Yes they are well made, and they're warm and cosy when you put them on, but they do not breathe at all, with the lining becoming sodden after an hour or so. This leads to a couple of major issues. When you stop for a coffee and take your hands out, they will be going back into a wet glove. That's not great, but they do get warm soon enough. What can be more of an issue is the wet inner lining can turn inside out as you pull your hand out, and it becomes really hard to push your fingers back in.

The second issue is they take far too long to dry. I've taken to stuffing cardboard rolls up them to allow the inside to vent, but it still takes 24h. As a result they also need frequent washing to keep them hygienic, and then drying from a full wash takes a couple of days.

Sorry Endura, love your jackets and bibs, but can't recommend this one.
