What Bikes & Parts we'd like to see in 2025 (Rumours and Speculation)

At the Biketart HQ there's only one thing we love more than coffee and conspiracy theories and that's new stuff. It may be a shock to some of you that we know about as much as you do but that's never stopped us before.

In a shameless and unsurprising move we've decided to put pen to analogous paper and speculate wildly on the internet.

Amflow Biketart

DJI putting motors in other bikes:

The DJI Amflow PL Carbon has seen a launch and demand like nothing else in the last five years, and we've been super impressed. We're expecting to see their motor/battery system on other bikes sometime in 2025 (possibly badged as '2026' season bikes. What would be better than a new Santa Cruz Bullit with the DJI system? The ultimate DH platform with that motor would blow everything else out of the water.

A new Yeti E-MTB.

Released at the the tail end of 2021, the Yeti 160E had a rough start in the UK. Post pandemic it was nearly a year before we actually saw one in the flesh and by that time most interested people had bought a Santa Cruz. Given the length of the product cycle we expect to see a new 160E or equivalent before the year is out. This will probably with a new motor continuing the market's shift towards Bosch or could we see an all new Shimano EP9 made to compete with the Amflow. Yeti have as yet stayed away from a 'lightweight' eBike but a distinct possibility is a lightweight E-MTB. One with a Bosch SX system would make us very happy. More turquoise is always welcome in our showroom.

New Shimano Saint?

Much like the new Necrophagist album, we've been expecting this every year since 2015. Every year they keep pumping it out, we know it is the apex DH drivetrain but we'd like to see some new styling and a power up to their awesome brakes to match the new SRAM Mavens. Whilst the downhill side of the industry has shrunk over the years as enduro and e-MTB has grown, in the last 12 months we've seen a massive increase in  downhill bike sales. With eBikes getting burlier there is consumer demand for hardwearing premium componentry. You may have seen new brakes from Shimano in the pits at World Cup races this year, the internet sleuths quickly labelled these as new Saint stoppers but we're not so sure and think Shimano has something else cooking.

More New Santa Cruz E-MTB's

With the Santa Cruz Valla released this year to mixed acclaim we're wondering what's happening with the Bullit. By far the best long travel E-MTB around it is starting to look long in the tooth. We're expecting to see the Santa Cruz Bullit updated with a Bosch CX motor and a bigger battery and maybe a little more travel.

The return of Evil bikes

We're big fans of Evil at Biketart and after a bad few years seeing them go hard on the sales and make some of their staff redundant we're hoping to see a resurgence The original and best short travel 29er we think the Evil Following will get some much needed modernisation and an epic relaunch. Our boss has been rocking one for years in various guises (with the Alp ready build of PUSH shock, angle headset and a longer fork being a true weapon) so no-one wants a refresh more than him.

Less headset cable routing

We know it looks cool and we know it makes the bike neater but if you've ever had to take your fork out or change a cable or headset bearing we know your pain. Mondraker's new Ebikes, the Crafty and the Sly have come in to stock and mercifully they've made a change from the previous version and put holes in the headtube. We'd like to see more of this in 2025.

We will update this if anything else occurs to the team!
